If you’ve ever watched the classic 1989 film ‘Steel Magnolias’ and thought to yourself, “You know, I wish a cable channel would remake this with an all African-American cast,” your wish has apparently been granted.

Clint Eastwood is famous in Hollywood for being a fast, no-nonsense director who brings his films in on time and under budget, but his next project — a remake of ‘A Star Is Born’ — is having trouble just getting started. Lately, it seems Hollywood is happier living in the past than in the future, what with remakes of films like ‘Footloose’ and squeezing every last drop of nostalgia out of comic book superheroes.
