Real Winter Weather Expected to Hit Montana This Weekend
Montanans have enjoyed a mostly dry, mild November. A large portion of the state has been relishing daytime highs this month in the upper 40s, 50s, and even a few mid-to-upper 60s in some areas.
Snowfall has been minimal, threatening to push back opening dates for some ski resorts in the Treasure State. While most of us aren't complaining about the mild weather, those who monitor early snowpack levels might be concerned that things seem a little too dry out there.
Much colder and opportunities for snow towards the end of the week.
If you're hitting the highway for Thanksgiving this year, keep an eye on the weather and road reports, because as of now (Monday, 11/24), the forecast is looking a little dicey for much of Montana by the weekend and into next week.

Daytime temperatures will remain around 40°F for much of the state through Friday. A cold front will push in over the weekend, with dramatically cooler temperatures and decent chances of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures around the state on Sunday could look like this:
- Billings: 21 high, 7 low
- Great Falls: 23 high, 9 low
- Missoula: 26 high, 14 low
- Bozeman: 22 high, low 8
- Miles City: 19 high, low 4
Wintery conditions have already been impacting mountainous areas in the western third of the state, along the Hi-Line, and in areas of central and eastern Montana this week.
