I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).

Homesteader Days has some old school "state fair style" fun and some great country music under the big sky. This year, the headliners are Terri Clark and Ned Ledoux.
Don’t Be Cruel – Bring Your Pets Inside
Today I saw someone post some disturbing pictures in one of the local Billings groups of two dogs left out in the snow. The person who posted the photos said these dogs were left out all day regardless of the weather. I almost shared this post, but I am trying to learn the lesson "sometimes pictures don't show the whole story" and I would rather witness things with my own eyes before I take part in causing a riot.
The Best Cough Syrup Not Available in Montana
Hands down the best cough remedy I've ever had is called Buckley's which I discovered a few years ago in Oregon. It is perhaps the worst tasting stuff I've ever put in my mouth, but it does the trick for stopping coughs. Sadly, I can't seem to find it in Montana.
Stuff To Do With The Kids This Weekend
This weekend, you can catch something more tween appropriate at the Babcock: Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part. My daughter and I will be checking that out on Saturday. She's never been inside the Babcock and I'm sure it will be a memorable experience.
Weird Things Your Tax Dollars Fund – And One Thing You Can Do About It
There will never come a day when you're happy with everything your tax dollars support. There will always be something that is at odds with your religion, your morals, or your common sense. I was doing some quick searches to see what kind of things us workin' class Americans have supported over the years and here a few of my favorites
Lunch at COR Enterprises
Had a cheap lunch out at COR enterprises today and since there are likely plenty of people who don't know anything about this organization, I thought I'd share. COR's primary goal is to provide training and employment opportunities to people with various disabilities. There's a little more to it than that these days, so if you want the in depth version, I suggest clicking here and reading the "About" page on their site.
How Do Teachers Stay Healthy?
I used to be that person who never got sick, but apparently those days are over. I'm on my second cold of 2019 and it's February. I suppose I could blame my aging body that I don't take proper care of, but I still choose to blame my daughter and the germ factories she hangs out with on a daily basis at school.
New Anti-Snoring Treatment Puts Red Hot Probes Up Your Nose
There is a new treatment available now, but I don't think I have ever loved anyone enough to put myself through this medieval torture. Two metal rods are heated up to 140 degrees and then shoved up the snorer's nose. In many cases, this burns and shrinks some of the tissue causing the blockage and allows people to breathe through their nose better.
Little Texas at the Shrine Auditorium
If you were into the country music scene in the 90's I'm sure you had a couple of Little Texas songs that you liked to crank up. Kick A Little, God Blessed Texas were some smash hits. They also had some wildly popular ballads like What Might Have Been and My Love.
All 2,100 Payless Shoe Stores Closing
In the case of Payless, they're not only dealing with online giants, but other brick and mortar giants who not only carry many of the same brands, but also sell groceries, car batteries and pet food.
The Cost of Weddings in Montana
We're a couple of days past Valentine's Day and odds are we have quite a few couples thinking about taking that big leap into matrimony. Now it's time to start looking at the reality of what a wedding in Montana costs.
Speaking Spanish is Not a Crime in Havre
Those legal citizens are no more or less of a citizen than I am. They are covered by the same Constitution that I am and should not be treated as less of a citizen because of their accent or preferred language.
