Next month’s CMA Awards in Nashville will begin with Blake Shelton. The reigning Male Vocalist of the Year will open the show singing ‘Footloose,’ the song he recorded for a remake of the 1984 movie starring Kevin Bacon.

That Shelton stayed true to the original version recorded by Kenny Loggins should serve him well. Loggins will join the ‘God Gave Me You’ singer onstage to make the performance into a show opening duet. The Nov. 9 show begins at 8PM ET on ABC.

Other made-for-television moments include Natasha Bedingfield joining Rascal Flatts for their hit ‘Easy,’ Lionel Richie performing duets from his upcoming country album with Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker, and a tribute to Glen Campbell featuring Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.

In addition, fans can expect solo performances from Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, the Band Perry and many more. Paisley and Carrie Underwood will headline the 2011 CMA Awards.
