Brad Paisley Keeps His Word, Performs With Sarah Darling at Grand Ole Opry

Brad Paisley is a man of his word. The hitmaker told rising country star Sarah Darling — who narrowly missed the chance to move on in ‘Rising Star’ — that she could share the stage with him at the Grand Ole Opry, and the two singers did just that on Friday (July 18).
Darling came in just a few percentage points below competitor Megan Tibbits on the show, but she didn’t leave ‘Rising Star’ empty handed. Paisley sweetened the blow of going back home to Nashville with his Opry offer, and together, the pair performed his hit ‘Whiskey Lullaby’ on the historic stage.
Paisley obviously has faith in Darling’s talent, as he was the only judge that voted for her after hearing her stunning rendition of Lee Ann Womack‘s ‘I Hope You Dance.’ The country star introduced her before their duet at the Opry by simply saying, “Welcome home — back to the place you belong, Nashville, Tenn.”
Her response emphasized her love for Music City: “There’s no place like home,” she retorted. Although Darling won’t be the first champion of ‘Rising Star,’ she caught the eye of one of country’s hottest stars, and that’s definitely a prize in itself.
