“Love Gone Wrong” Story Submission – “False Advertising”

It's February, and Valentine's Day is quickly approaching!  We're celebrating the holiday by featuring our listeners' worst dating stories.  We're kicking off our "Love Gone Wrong" series with a cautionary tale of online dating.  This story submission from a girl we'll call "Carrie" proves that what you see online isn't always exactly what you get!

When I lived in Bozeman, I met a man online who had a gorgeous photo of himself. We decided to go out to eat for our first date.

I went in, walked through a bunch of people, and heard my name being called. I turned around and there he was. A man that looked over 60 years old, claimed he was 43, hadn't even showered, smelled like diesel, and was greasy all over.

I was nice enough to have dinner with him. I asked him "How old is that picture of you?" I knew that what I saw online was definitely not what was in front of me!! He replied, "Oh, about 25 years old."

After dinner, he politely asked me if I had any condoms! Really, after a first date?!?!  Unbelievable! He said "Well, I did come clear down here to Bozeman from Anaconda." As if that mattered!

That's one of the worst dates I ever had. Needless to say, I went home, locked the doors and prayed that I never heard from this idiot again.

Careful with meeting those guys online, ladies!  Maybe you should ask for an updated picture next time, Carrie!
