As a  wise man once said, there is a fine line between comedy and stupidity.  Mark Wilson is not afraid to cross that line.

Over the years, Mark's unique brand of humor has both amused and, occasionally, annoyed Paul (by occasionally, we mean every day).  This morning, a random encounter between Mark and a total stranger on the elevator left us wondering, "Is Mark Funny?"

Mark was headed up the elevator to our studios on the 23rd floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  A man asked if he was "going to the top".  Mark replied, "it's lonely up there" (rim shot...crickets).  The man was not amused.

Undeterred, Mark soldiered on with the witty banter.  When a man called to request a Hank Williams song, Mark cleverly responded by saying, "Hanks a lot".  He then laughed hysterically at his own joke.  Luckily, he was able to produce a chuckle from both the caller and Paul.  Not that Mark cares if other people laugh.   The jokes are intended for his own amusement.  Amazingly, those (sometimes feeble) attempts at humor have managed to pay his bills for the past 25 years.

The verdict:  Mark Wilson is, in fact, a comedy legend.  Just ask him.
