Miranda Lambert may be sassy as all get out, but at her core, she's a softie with a big heart. At a concert in Texas on Saturday (Sept. 13), Lambert sang 'Over You' to a 7-year-old fan stricken with cancer ... and it left the superstar in tears.

As Lambert strode across the stage, she noticed a sweet fan in the crowd who was younger than many of the fans at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi and clearly fighting cancer, with her head covered up by a pink cowgirl hat and a mask to help prevent germs from affecting her. The little girl's name is Brooke Hester, and she's battling Stage IV Neuroblastoma cancer. She was diagnosed in 2010.

In the powerful moment, the songstress bent down, grabbed Hester's hand and serenaded her before standing up and breaking down in tears. Lambert tried to compose herself, but it was obvious she was deeply touched by Hester's bravery and sweet spirit. The star held the mic out to the audience, prompting them to sing as the song finished out, and she repeatedly wiped away tears -- as did everyone else.

It was a performance that Lambert probably didn't expect to be so emotional, but it's a moment that Hester and her family will remember for a very long time.

Lambert is currently on her 2014 Platinum Tour, which began in July. She has just one more tour date on Sept. 20, wrapping the run in Honolulu, Hawaii.
