Lately, there's been a lot of debate about Minnesota Vikings player Adrian Peterson, who was recently indicted on child abuse charges after he spanked his son with a wooden switch. Of course, the line between disclipline and abuse was a lot different when we were growing up.

So, for this week's One Line Monday topic, the Flakes want to know, what was the worst whoppin' your parents ever gave you?

One lady recalled being spanked by her mom.  Because the kids told their mom that her spanking didn't hurt them, she switched from a paddle and started spanking their butts with a chord from the coffee maker.  They learned their lesson quickly.

Another gentlemen told us about a childhood incident where he and his brother were fighting.  His mom told them to stop, but they didn't.  Finally, she grabbed them both by the hair and boinked their heads together.

One lady used to get spanked by a "pizza paddle" and another guy called in to share the story about his father's razor strap.  Interestingly enough, every single caller claimed that they were better because of the discipline they received at home.

Both Mark and Paul were spanked as kids.  By the time they were teenagers, they were begging their parents to spank them instead of making them rake leaves and grounding them.  Paul's kids were taught to feat the wooden stick on their refrigerator.  By the time his first two children learned the hard way, his youngest two knew better.

What about you?  Did your parents discipline you as a child?  And where do you draw the line between discipline and abuse?  Feel free to drop us a line and share your thoughts, flakes103@yahoo.com.
