If you woke up with the Breakfast Flakes this morning, you probably heard some stories about Paul's weekend adventure while attending his nephew's wedding in Seattle. The weirdness began at the airport when Paul noticed that passengers of middle eastern descent get a little extra attention during the baggage check.  He also questioned the logic of the rule that allows people born before 1937 to keep their shoes on while passing through the security checkpoint.

After arriving in Seattle, Paul got stuck in a horrific traffic jam.  As much as we complain about the crazy drivers here in Billings, we are lucky to live in a place with a relatively short commute time.  It's one of the many reasons why we love it here.

With the possible exception of Paul's Dad showing off his moves on the dance floor, the highlight of Paul's trip was his tour of the Boeing plant.  After making his way through a humongous concrete tunnel, Paul was able to see them build a 747 and the new 787 Dreamliner.  Seeing an aircraft of that size on the assembly line was truly impressive.  Paul's only complaint about the Boeing plant was the requisite "Wanna-Be Game Show Host Tour Guide".  "Who here is from Montana?  Who here is from Canada?  Who here is from India?"  After naming off every sovereign nation in the known world, Paul somehow resisted the urge to bludgeon the host and lead the tour himself.

Fortunately, Paul (and the tour guide) managed to survive.  He did learn an important lesson.  If you really want to appreciate Billings, take a trip somewhere.  When you land in Montana, you're happy to be home.
