After several medical scares that included hospitalization due to congestive heart failure and a stroke (which required emergency surgery and found him in critical condition), singer Randy Travis has been released from the hospital.

Travis has been discharged from Baylor Heart in Plano, Texas -- but he is not out of the woods. The star has been relocated to a physical therapy facility so that he can continue on the path to recovery after coming down with an unusual virus.

Travis fiancée, Mary Davis, issued a statement via the singer's publicist, who kept the media well-informed on the singer's condition throughout his terrifying medical ordeal, which spanned the month of July.

"Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery,” Davis says.

Further updates on Travis' condition and how it changes will be available on his official website. A detailed explanation and analysis of Travis' unusual health issues as offered by a cardiologist is found here.

Taste of Country continues to wish Randy Travis the best as he navigates the recovery process.
