‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Schedules Final Episodes For Early 2014

This past weekend at New York Comic-Con brought with it plenty of ‘Star Wars‘ buzz and new details for upcoming animated seriesStar Wars Rebels,’ but fans of the now-canceled ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ will finally get a bit of closure as we’ve learned when the final-produced episodes will ultimately premiere.

Having completed a significant amount of work on the episodes prior to Lucasfilm’s decision to cancel ‘Clone Wars’ in favor of the more sequel trilogy-friendly ‘Rebels,’ today saw supervising director for either series Dave Filoni take to Facebook to clarify when fans might see the final ‘Clone Wars’ installments.

Star Wars fans – I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it’s good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda’s most challenging missions. So, get ready. We’ve got Clone Wars and Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.

- Dave

It remains to be seen where, or in what form the episodes will emerge in early 2014, though one sequence we’ve glimpsed before saw Plo Koon (James Arnold Taylor) in a previously unknown arc that delved into the oft-debated ‘Star Wars’ mystery of Jedi master Sifo-Dyas, beginning with the discovery of a discarded lightsaber on a desolate world. Another completed sequence explored the infamous “Order 66,” as a clone trooper suddenly became confused, and turned on his Jedi commander.

You can preview both future ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ episodes in the videos above and below, and tell us what you want to see of the show’s final installments in the comments!
