Scotty McCreery to Attend North Carolina State University

Scotty McCreery is a legitimate country superstar at the tender age of 18. He won Season 10 of ‘American Idol’ in 2011 and was just awarded a platinum plaque for ‘Clear as Day,’ which celebrates a million copies sold. He’s performed on several late night TV shows and has embarked on major tours. But underneath it all, he’s still a country boy at heart who plans to further his education. He confirmed to CMT Radio (thanks, mjsbigblog) that while he was accepted to all four colleges that he applied to, he will be attending North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

Scotty McCreery Records Tim McGraw Cover for ‘American Idol’ Exit Song

Each week on the remaining episodes of ‘American Idol‘ Season 11, one unfortunate hopeful will have to leave the stage for good. Rather than making that moment more awkward with silence or a peppy pop song spinning in the background, ‘Idol’ commissioned last season’s winner Scotty McCreery to record the farewell song to make it a memorable moment. Scotty McCreery Gets Accepted to College

It’s been a whirlwind and well-documented year for Scotty McCreery with his ‘American Idol‘ win, his No. 1 hit album ‘Clear As Day,’ his busy touring and interview schedule and the time he reserves for family and friends. He’s also going to continue to mix work with school, as he has applied to several colleges — and has just revealed that he’s been accepted to East Carolina.
