Weston Burt Stops Motion in Lighthearted ‘Lucky Sometimes’ Video

Weston Burt broke onto the country music scene earlier this year when he released his debut single, ‘Lucky Sometimes.’ In an effort to get his tune as much exposure as possible, the newcomer has released a fun stop motion music video of himself and his band playing the tune.

If you’re not familiar with the technique, stop motion is an animation platform that actually doesn’t involve recording with video at all. The band was photographed nonstop while they performed ‘Lucky Sometimes,’ and then the photos were put together in rapid succession to create an interesting effect.

‘Lucky Sometimes’ is the kind of uptempo song that needs a fun video to go along with it. In this one, Burt and his band are simply playing the tune in front of a brick wall while a group of girls dance around them with hula hoops. Eventually, the ladies move on to painting a sign with Burt’s name, tossing around beach balls and playing cards.

Burt’s host of girls don’t really add much to the catchy love song, but they do create several colorful and interesting background shots in the stop motion clip. The 27-year-old singer has been working hard to jumpstart his country music career, and this music video is just another way he’s hoping to gain new fans.

“I’m a hardworking guy from Alabama who loves country music,” he reveals. “And I’m ready for my shot.”

It looks like Burt isn’t taking his shot for granted. ‘Lucky Sometimes’ has been getting lots of radio airplay — especially on Sirius XM’s ‘The Highway’ radio show. Burt also took advantage of an opportunity to perform a late-night set at the Taste of Country Music Festival earlier this month. Trust that country fans will be seeing a lot more of Burt before long!
