Over the weekend, an article was released ranking the top 30 counties in the United States based on the percentage of residents who own a gun.  And, of course, Yellowstone County is one of the most heavily armed counties in the country.

We finished 14th on the national list.  The article claims that 48.7 % of all residents in Yellowstone County own a firearm.  We're surprised it's not higher.  We're also surprised that not one single Texas county made the list.  Evidently, you have to go to Louisiana to find the real gun lover.  Of the 30 counties on this list, 6 of them were parishes in Louisiana.

They say Fairbanks, Alaska has the most gun owners, with 59.1% of the population.  It's also important to note, not every single county in America was included in the survey.  Yellowstone County has a lot of gun owners, but we'd be willing to bet the percentage is even higher in smaller places like Petroleum County.

And since we know that nearly half the population owns a gun, keep in mind, Mark and Paul will be announcing the winners for this year's "30 Guns in 30 Days" raffle every day this month.
