Brad Paisley joined political satirist Jon Stewart for an irreverent look at the state of politics in Texas on 'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' this week, as the show is filming in Austin.

Paisley has taken on some fairly progressive social issues in his songs, writing 'Welcome to the Future' after President Obama was elected and collaborating with LL Cool J for a controversial song called 'Accidental Racist.' Though he declines to reveal his own personal voting record, he appeared on the decidedly liberal show as part of a spoof of the upcoming midterm elections called 'Democalypse 2014: South by South Mess.'

Austin is the sole liberal bastion in the otherwise conservative state. Topics for this week's shows include Ebola, abortion, gay rights, secession, immigration reform and the possible Republican takeover of the Senate.

Paisley joined special correspondent Jason Jones for a song titled 'The State of Texas,' which hilariously sends up some of the hot-button issues for the state's voters: "Here in Texas 'pro-choice' means you get to choose which guns you carry / Or which member of the other sex that you'd like to marry / When teachers tell kids 'howdy,' nearly half of them say 'hola' / We're the state that's got it all / Hell, now we've even got Ebola."

Paisley will get to put his humor to use again next Wednesday (Nov. 5), when he joins Carrie Underwood to co-host the CMA Awards for the seventh consecutive year.
