Of course, with unsupervised kids, your options are limited. You can shush them, but if the kids have been indoctrinated into the "adults can't do anything to me" philosophy, they don't really care.
I say "must haves" in the title, but "Five things I'm really hoping for" might be more accurate since you can't always get what you want. However, if at all possible, these are things I'd rather not pass on:
I read that only about 10% of Americans know what the meaning behind this Mexican holiday is and I decided to put that to the test today. I asked every person who called the request line today and only one person knew the correct answer
After what I just read, I'm thinking we could stand to have a few more ranchers in Montana. It's been suggested for many years that with the rate of population growth, traditional livestock is not a sustainable option to feed the planet. This seems pretty logical, but one of the proposed solutions is a little on the gross side.
I grew up in an era with lots of Summer Camp movies. Meatballs, Ernest Goes To Camp, Camp Nowhere, Friday the 13th...almost all of those movies made me want to go to summer camp, but it just wasn't an option where I grew up.
Montana has plenty of horse fanatics, but almost none of them will make it to Louisville to watch the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. So, here's the next best thing: The Billings Derby Party.
Last year was the inaugural celebration drawing more than 2,500 people to the Billings Depot downtown. This year, more activities are planned, some of which will have a fee, but admission is free.
I just felt the need to point out that laser hair removal isn't just for women. There are plenty of guys out there sporting a carpet on their back that they're not exactly proud of. The folks at Montana Medical Aesthetics invited me to have this procedure about a year ago so I could share my experience. I'm not a super hairy guy, but I did have enough to notice (especially when wet at the pool).
Here at Cat Country, our director of first impressions is Mackenzie. Mackenzie isn't pictured in the photo because she's enjoying the gift of time off. In her place, a bell that annoys our business manager
People like the Flakes (there aren't many) will endure for as long as they wish. If there is something happening in Billings, those two are on top of it before it makes headlines. Often times, they're the ones making headlines with some sort of community service. That's the kind of radio that will always be relevant. For DJ's that just play a few songs and go home, I'd say they deserve a spot on the list since there is a short shelf life on that career.
If you've got a great looking trophy, feel free to share. Better yet, if you've got something in your house that you swear you'll burn the day after your husband dies, I'd love to see that even more.
