How many cowboys do you know that are secure enough to wear pink?

If all goes as planned, the rodeo grounds at MontanaFair cowboys, MontanaFair staffer and fairgoers will be awash in pink on Aug. 13. Tough Enough to Wear Pink is the theme of the Yellowstone River Roundup PRCA rodeo that day.

The night calls attention to funding breast cancer awareness, screening, and support.

In 2011,  the most recent year numbers are available, 220,097 women and 2,078 men in the United States were diagnosed with breast cancer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Some 40,931 women and 443 men in the United States died from breast cancer, according to the CDC.

This year, St. Vincent Healthcare in cooperation with Signal Peak Energy are sponsoring Tough Enough to Wear Pink night. PRCA rodeos have traditionally held the night on Thursday.

St. Vincent Healthcare will have a mammogram trailer at MontanaFair on Aug. 13 to encourage women to be checked for breast cancer. Many rodeo cowboys and MontanaFair staff will wear pink in support of the day's event, according to Ray Massie, sales and marketing director for MontanaFair.

St. Vincent Healthcare will be on the MontanaFair grounds for the entire fair with their "Health Bus" location near Montana Pavilion.
