At this week's School District 2 Board meeting, a Skyview High School student expressed her opposition to a new policy that prohibits girls from wearing yoga pants and leggings.  The student claims that the dress code unfairly targets women.

She went on say that the policy teaches students that "our bodies are something to hide".  She then asserted that the prohibited clothing is worn for comfort, not to promote sexuality.    She finished by saying that if boys are distracted by a "butt in the room", they are the ones with the problem.

Paul pointed out that public school students don't get to make the rules. After school, students can dress however they'd like.  If you want to wear something that looks like a store bought wedgie, do it on your time. It is a distraction for every teenage boy in that school. It might not be fair, but neither is life.
