Property Taxes

If you're reading this, then you are probably as mad as I am over how over-taxed most of us are. I got my property tax statement last week. Woof. I'm glad that they finally have broken down all of the places my money will be going.

News out today from Yellowstone county painted a rosy picture for revenue, according to the Billings Gazette. The county reported revenue at 57.98 million dollars. That's an increase of almost 2 million dollars over last year.

Don't forget your property taxes are due tomorrow. You know, the ones that continue to go up the older and more used your house becomes.  Taxable value, how can a twenty year old window, roof or hot water heater become more valuable...

I got my property tax statement yesterday. I didn't add anything to my home's exterior this past year. No new doors or windows. No new paint. I didn't re-shingle my roof. I didn't build on any type of extension or additional garage space...

It was a long night for House District 96 candidate Adam Hertz when initial numbers favored his opponent, the incumbent, Andrew Person.
