Teenage Paul Was a Real Ladies Man

This morning, Paul shared a story from his misspent youth.  When he was 13, his family went on vacation.  Paul became enamored with an older woman who had just started college.  He was hell bent on impressing her.

Like a fool, he climbed up a palm tree to grab a coconut.  It was a lot easier climbing up than it was coming down. After Paul did his best imitation of a monkey, he proceeded to slide down the palm tree.  Every brand tore into his hands, but he played it off like a real tough guy.

Was the older gal impressed with his gesture of chivalry?  Not exactly.

When Paul went to present her with the coconut he had risked his life to pick, she informed him that the coconut he picked was green.  Then she asked him to climb back up the tree and pick a ripe coconut for her.

Paul learned an important lesson that day.  If you have to risk your life to impress a woman, she probably won't be very impressed.
