The Breakfast Flakes: How to Stop Billings Teens’ Vandalism

Billings Vandals
Casey Page/Billings Gazette Staff

According to Billings police, the vandalism occurring on the West End of Billings has stopped since they’ve located several suspects.  It appears that the vandals who racked up more than $100,000 worth of damages were all juveniles between the ages of 14 and 16.  No charges have been filed yet.

One listener called in to the Flakes’ show this morning suggestion that a new facility built to keep teens out of trouble might cut down on criminal mischief like vandalism.  However, the Flakes seem to think the answer can be found a little closer to home.  Listen to the debate from their show right here.

What do you think is most effective?  Should we take the time to build a place where teens can have fun without tearing up the town, or should we be holding parents accountable for their kids’ actions?
