If you've been listening for a long time, Paul has been complaining about this for years.  The high school football season kicks off today.  One of the marquee matchups features Billings West hosting the highly touted Kalispell Glacier squad.  And, of course, the game starts at 4 pm.

Why do they schedule games at 4 pm on a Friday?  It's an inconvenience to both the students and the players.  It's not against the law to play on Saturday.  Instead, parents have to take time off work to see their kids plays.  And a big percentage of the student body is busy with other sports, clubs or activities at 4 pm.  It just doesn't make sense.

And that's just for the home games.  A Laurel parent called in this morning to tell us about her son's game next Friday in Stevensville.  The game is scheduled for 7 pm and the players won't be staying the night.  Their bus will get back home at 5 am on Saturday. What's that day like for the players?  They wake up and go to class, then get on a bus and ride for 6 hours, then they play until 10 pm and get back on the bus for another 6 hour trip.

It's not fair to the players, the students or their parents.
