Amanda is the kind of person who shows up for everyone. A devoted mom, a loyal friend, and someone who never hesitates to help others and now, she’s the one who needs help.

Since June 21st, Amanda has been facing the most difficult challenge of her life, and her community is rallying to support her.

A Sudden Decline No One Saw Coming

What started as extreme fatigue and unusual symptoms quickly spiraled into something far more serious. Amanda was hospitalized in Billings for seven days, and since then, her health has continued to decline. She’s been unable to return to work and is now in a race against time to find answers and get the treatment she needs.

A Shocking Diagnosis

Doctors have diagnosed Amanda with two rare and life-threatening blood disorders:

  • Hereditary Spherocytosis Anemia, a genetic condition that causes red blood cells to break down prematurely. This leads to severe anemia and puts a dangerous strain on organs like the spleen.
  • Pancytopenia, a serious and complex condition where the body doesn’t produce enough red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets. That means Amanda is struggling to carry oxygen, can’t fight infections, and has a high risk of bleeding.

She’s already undergone several blood transfusions and two emergency autoimmune treatments to keep her stable, but so far, her condition remains unpredictable and fragile.

Mayo Clinic Could Be the Turning Point

With no clear path forward in Billings, Amanda has been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Her appointment is scheduled for August 20th. There, a team of specialists will evaluate her for major procedures, possibly even surgery, and work to understand what’s causing her body to turn against itself.

This trip may determine whether her condition can be reversed, treated, or even cured. But she can’t do it alone.

The Road Ahead is Long and Costly

Amanda will need to travel with a loved one, stay near the clinic for multiple days, and prepare for ongoing care once she returns home. All of this is happening while she’s unable to work, facing growing medical expenses, and trying to keep life as stable as possible for her children.

A Call for Help

Friends and family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help raise at least $5,000. The money will go toward:

  • Travel, lodging, and meals during her Mayo Clinic visit
  • Ongoing medical bills and prescriptions
  • Living expenses while she is out of work
  • Daily needs and essentials for her kids

This isn’t just about medical care, it’s about giving Amanda a fighting chance and easing the heavy burden that comes with a health crisis no one ever expects.
