Lauren Alaina Put on Vocal Rest, Cancels Weekend Appearances
Bad news for Lauren Alaina fans planning to see the singer perform live this weekend. She has been forced to cancel all her upcoming shows because her doctor has put her on complete vocal rest. That means no singing!
Alaina issued a tweet early on Thursday (August 2), letting fans know that they won’t be seeing her with Sugarland in the Midwest (Cincinnati and Detroit) this weekend. As expected, the 17-year-old ‘American Idol’ star is completely bummed to be missing out on these gigs — as she hates to let her fans down — but she’s following doctor’s orders.
“So sad I have to miss sugarland shows this weekend, but my dr put me on complete vocal rest(if u know me u know how hard that is),” she said, adding the hashtag “#imsosorry.”
Of course, it’s best for her to miss a few shows now, instead of exacerbating the problem and missing even more down the road. Alaina needs to rest that husky voice of hers to keep it operating at full capacity for the long term.

Get well soon, Lauren!
