drought

I took this picture on the 4th, its never been this green before. Lets give it 10 days and then I'll take another picture. With the warm weather coming we are only 10 days away from a drought.Stay tuned.........

At no time since we have been recording weather in Billings has it been drier in June.   We finished with less than a quarter inch for the month.  On a normal year we get over 2 inches.  Yet Mike Cooney and his drought advisory board have yet to declare a drought emergency for our county.  ...

Billings is 2 inches behind normal for moisture so far this year.  A no burning ban is in place for Yellowstone County, yet the official drought monitor does not have us in a drought situation. These people are certifiably nuts.  There's no sub-soil moisture, its almost 100 degrees, grass is dead, trees have no moisture content, and rivers are lower than normal...
