When Is Enough, Enough Billings? [Opinion]
I love my kids with all of my heart and would give them the world if I could. One thing I love is being able to give them a big Christmas when I can and watching their smiling faces on Christmas morning as they see what Santa has brought them.
However I do feel this can be taken over-board. Where it becomes a point to do better than their friend's parents did or plain out spoiling the kids. Big Christmases are nice but what do the kids really get out of it.
I read this story and had two thoughts come to mind.
- It must be nice to be able to afford that many presents for your kids.
- What is the benefit from buying this many presents? Trying to buy their love?
It is not my place to judge, but I do have my own beliefs on this. I am wondering what kind of kids they are. Are they learning the important things in life like to take things in moderation? When she brags about this, what is she telling other kids that aren't as fortunate? They aren't good enough for Santa to unload on them?
I want my kids to enjoy Christmas, but in no way am I going to take up my entire living room to make that happen.
What;s your thought Cat Pack? When is it too many presents under the tree?
