This morning, the Breakfast Flakes talked about a new survey that compared American high school students to other teenagers around the world...and the news isn't good.  Students from the United States don't even rank in the Top 20.  It gets worse.

The test was given to 15 year olds all over the globe.  It tested their knowledge in three major categories:  Math, Science and Reading.  American students scored below average in both Math and Science and average in Reading.

The top scores in all three categories came from students in Shanghai, China.  Which confirms Paul's theory about "class size" and "learning".  If all 20 million of the students in Shanghai, China are were adversely affected by crowded classrooms, they wouldn't dominate the rest of the world in test scores.

This survey also supports Paul's belief that increasing school funding has no correlation with learning.  Between 2000 and 2013, education spending has skyrocketed at a staggering rate.  Yet, test scores remain stagnant American students continue to fall further behind the rest of the world. Sadly, this doesn't bode well for their chances of competing in the global economy in the future.
