For all my years living here, I'd never been to the Beartooth Nature Center in Red Lodge.

Our family stopped in yesterday and saw it. It's small and it doesn't take long to see all of the animals. They have a nice collection of animals, all of whom have come to this sanctuary due to injuries they received in the wild.

The Beartooth Nature Center is a nonprofit, educational center with more than 100 native wild animals. This is the only facility of it's kind in the state.

You can view and pet native wild and domestic animals, including elk, deer, pronghorns, bear, mountain lions, wolves, bobcat, fox, farm animals and more.

If you haven't been there lately, or ever for that matter, it's worth seeing.

Beartooth Nature Center is located at the north entrance of Red Lodge in Coal Miners Park on Second Avenue East. It's about 65 miles south of Billings on Highway 212.
