One of my all time favorites is no  longer going to tour. Don Williams announced that he just wants to spend more time at home. He's 76 and he's been in the music business for 60 years.

To me he not only sang well, but he also sang great COUNTRY songs. "Listen To The Radio" contains one of my favorite lyrics. "I guess as a lover, I have a ways to go. When someone wants you, they should just say it's so."

"I Believe In You" was all about morality and simple pleasures, back when country radio was still playing all of the lyin, cheatin, drinkin songs.

I saw him in concert right here in Billings on 3 different occasions. And I still remember the folks at Alberta Bair Theatre being nervous about selling 35 dollar tickets to some guy they weren't sure about. So, the first show quickly sold out, and they added a second show, which also sold out.

It's too bad we've all got to get old and have to give up doing what we love. And the time has come for Don. He had to get a hip replaced a few weeks ago.
