Have Sensory Issues? Rimrock Mall Sensory Santa Returns In Billings
With the holidays just weeks away, we're all planning out events to attend. Whether it is Holiday Nights at Zoo Montana, visiting family and friends, or you're simply planning to take the kids to see Santa at Rimrock Mall, it is slowly becoming "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year".
Sensory Santa Is Back
If you've not heard of Sensory Santa before, that is understandable, however, Sensory Santa was created for those who are in need of a sensory-friendly Santa Experience for their family.
The main difference between this Santa event, and the regular Santa event daily in the mall, is the crowd will be very small and calm.
Why Do We Need This?
According to Sensory-Friendly Santa, we all understand how exciting it is to meet Santa for the kids, but it may overwhelm some children. And for parents, this might be all too familiar. This means that those parents may not be able to bring their child to meet Santa, due to the loud noises, bright lights, big crowds, long lines, and even smells.
Sensory-Friendly Santa claims that around 1/3 of our population is more likely to experience sensory sensitivity, which is a "heightened sensitivity to any one of a child or adult's senses".
When and Where
For the parents who want to take their kiddo to the Sensory-Friendly Santa event at Rimrock Mall this year, the event is taking place Saturday, December 9th from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM inside Build-A-Bear Workshop. These hours are outside normal public hours, keeping with the sensory-friendly environment.
