This life affords us some unusual headlines in our inboxes, from spending Comic-Con nights in a 'Star Wars' dog cantina to entrepreneurs that can't spell the world "tweet," but suffice to say, LeBron James starting a Starz sitcom got our attention. The controversial Miami Heat star has partnered with a famous 'Cosby Show' producer for a new half-hour comedy on Starz, the details of which are too surprising and strange to ignore.

Summer seems to have just about ended, and this sure kicks things off on an odd note. Starz today announced its partnership with James to develop 'Survivor's Remorse,' the story of Cam Calloway and Reggie Vaughn, two cousins who utilize a combination of "God-given talent and North Philly grit" to achieve fame and fortune outside of their difficult upbringing. Their success comes with its own challenges, however, as the pair struggle with the rewards of money, stardom, love, and the guilt of having “made it.”

“I have a deep passion for the amazing television being created right now,” said James in a statement. “I love ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Magic City,’ ‘Scandal’ and ’24.’ When my business partners Tom Werner and Maverick Carter brought up the idea of creating a television series that would capture the story of what happens when you make it out, I jumped at the chance. For Maverick and I even to be where we are right now, given where we came from, is kind of hard to believe. I felt like it was a story that needed to be told, and nobody can craft a story like Tom Werner. He has an incredible vision for television and I’m really excited to partner with him and the rest of our team.”

James will serve as an executive producer along with 'Cosby' vet Tom Werner, currently Chairman of the Boston Red Sox. 'Glee' star and 'Shameless' producer Mike O’Malley will serve as executive producer and writer as well.

We're going to grab a few more cups of coffee and see if this makes any more sense, but what say you to LeBron James developing his own Starz sitcom?
