Woman Letting Internet Name Her Baby for $5,000
Suddenly we feel very lucky to have been born in the '80s. Back then, our biggest naming danger was being called Brandi or Lacey. One mom-to-be is letting the internet name her child, so who knows what it will be called.
Natasha Hill is the winner of a contest being held by Belly Ballot -- a website for indecisive future parents. The internet (all of it) will get to vote on what Natasha should name her child, and if she does it, she gets $5,000. People won't get to write in -- they'll have to pick from a list of "trending" baby names and suggestions from advertisers. So, probably Ethan, Liam, Olivia, Sophia, Emma, and whatever their sponsor's CEO's childhood dog was called.
What do you think? Should a parent be picking out their child's name, or is this really not a big deal at all? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE: The whole thing was a hoax.
