Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan Lead Country Nominees at the 2012 American Music Awards
Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan are among the leading country nominees at the upcoming 2012 American Music Awards, which is slated to air live from Los Angeles' Nokia Theater on Nov. 18 on ABC.
Underwood is up for Favorite Female Artist (Country) and Favorite Album (Country) for her 2012 effort 'Blown Away.' Bryan is nominated for Favorite Album (Country) for 'Tailgates & Tanlines' and Favorite Male Artist (Country). Notably, pop music icon-turned-country-singer Lionel Richie's debut country album, 'Tuskegee,' also scored a nomination for Favorite Country Album.
Other country award hopefuls include Taylor Swift, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts. One of Blake Shelton's fellow judges on 'The Voice,' Christina Aguilera, was the first performer announced for the upcoming awards show.
