Headline of the Year – 2014 Taste of Country Awards
2013 was full of tragedy, surprises and celebration -- it seemed a new jaw-dropping news event took place just about every month in country music. Five events make the final cut as nominees for the Headline of the Year Award at the 2014 Taste of Country Awards. Which do you think should win?
George Jones' death in April has to be a favorite to win, but Randy Travis's hospitalization just two-and-a-half months later was equally devastating. Luke Bryan pulled an upset by winning the 2013 ACM Entertainer of the Year award. Later that spring, Jake Owen was involved in an accident that resulted in part of his finger being amputated.
Mindy McCready's death rounds out the five nominees. The singer took her life in February, just weeks after her boyfriend did the same at their home in Arkansas.
Vote for the headline you'll remember as the signature moment of 2013. You can vote once every hour until the category closes at 10AM ET on Tuesday, Feb. 11. All 2014 Taste of Country Awards winners will be named shortly afterward.
