Late Sunday night, a robbery near a Billings park turned violent, leaving one man assaulted and his vehicle stolen. Police say the investigation is still unfolding, but several arrests have already been made.

Robbery and Assault at Optimist Park

According to the Billings Police Department, the incident happened around 9:17 p.m. on March 1 near Optimist Park. Police say a 24-year-old man went to the park to meet a woman. But when he arrived, the situation quickly escalated.

Investigators say the man was approached by a group of people, assaulted, and forcibly removed from his vehicle. During the attack, one of the suspects reportedly got into the victim’s car and drove away from the scene.

Details of the Stolen Car

The vehicle taken during the robbery is described as a 2016 silver Dodge Dart. At this time, police say they do not have a suspect description for the individual who drove the victim’s vehicle away.

Authorities are continuing to search for the stolen car and gather more information about potential suspects.

Police Arrest Multiple Suspects

Police say officers located another vehicle believed to be connected to the robbery nearby. That vehicle was stopped by officers, and three people were taken into custody.

Those arrested include:

  • 14-year-old male (name not released due to age)
  • Abigail Lawrence, 18
  • Jeremiah Hathaway, 18

All three have been charged with robbery.

Investigation and Public Assistance Ongoing

The Billings Police Department says the investigation is still ongoing, and additional information could be released as detectives continue working the case.
