Peek Inside John Mayer’s Beautiful Montana Recording Studio
Popular musician John Mayer recently gave us a sneak peek inside his state-of-the-art recording studio in Montana.
John Mayer loves Montana. Earlier this year, the grammy-winning musician invited a few special guests to Montana for a series of flood relief benefit shows. The guests include the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir and comedian Dave Chappelle. The shows were held at Pine Creek Lodge in Paradise Valley, close to where Mayer lives part-time.
John Mayer is one of the few celebrities with residences in Montana that have actually something to give back. He encouraged fans to keep vacation plans in the state despite historic flooding that temporarily closed sections of Yellowstone National Park.
In a 2012 interview with Men's Journal, Mayer explained what he finds appealing about living and recording music in Montana.
I’ve never taken a Xanax out here. I’ve never had a panic attack looking out over a mountain.
Mayer said.
Essentially, John Mayer needed a break from big cities and bright lights. It's easier for him to focus on writing and recording music without all of the distractions.
When Mayer isn't on the road touring with Dead & Co. or supporting his own music, he spends a lot of time in Montana.
He recently gave fans an update about what he's been working on. He also gave us a peek into his private recording studio in Montana.
Hello from the studio… I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated you on what’s next, and since many of you have asked when the next leg of touring is, I thought I’d share my thoughts and intentions for the future. I love touring and will continue to play live shows, but in staying open to what’s driving me creatively, it felt like making more music was the most inspired feeling I had. I know the Sob Rock tour was only in the US, and though I will make it to other cities and countries in the future, I’ve just got more songs to make. I’m having the time of my life writing and recording, and it won’t be long before I share some very exciting news about some new projects. I’m grateful beyond description for all the love and support I’ve got in you all, and I’m the luckiest person in the world to still be on this big beautiful ride with you all.
