Ryan Hurd’s ‘To a T’ Is an Ode to Wife Maren Morris, and She Sings on It [Listen]
Ryan Hurd's "To a T" is honest. It's easy to believe this is a regular night at home with wife Maren Morris, who is featured on the song.
Hurd calls upon his other half to provide soft backing harmonies as he promises her that he knows who she is down to the core.
Waning guitar and a subtle pop beat add a smooth vibe a the sultry track that's just easy listening. "Take off your makeup, nobody's around / It's you and me, girl, just let your guard down" Hurd sings in the first verse before making way for the chorus that gets his girl right where he wants her.
"I got you down to a t-shirt / White sheets, red wine / Baby you don't wanna leave / You want a record with some reverb, backbeat and low light / You know, I know what you need tonight," he croons, with Morris offering supporting vocals that drive the message home.

Hurd is breaking a solo career after a run as an accomplished songwriter, writing hits for Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and more. He wed Morris in March of 2018 in Nashville.
"To a T" is a hint of what's to come from Hurd's debut studio album on Nashville's RCA Records. He writes in an Instagram post that it "feels so good" to share the new song and see fans' interest in his upcoming project.
"I’m smiling so big posting this right now," he says in sharing the cover art for his new release. In 2017 he released a self-titled EP that features songs "Love in a Bar," inspired by his relationship with Morris, and "City Girl."
