‘Sesame Street’ Tackles ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ in Newest Parody
Just when you thought Subway sandwiches had proven the most bizarre and atonal tie-in for 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' in comes 'Sesame Street!' Watch Cookie Monster (excuse us, Cookieness Evereat) try to eat his way through 'The Hungry Games: Catching Fur' in a bullseye parody of the blockbuster franchise!
Ignoring the fact that 'Sesame Street' managed to boil down a dystopian vision of children forced to murder one another, or that the parody first retreads its nonexistent spoof of the original 'Hunger Games' before setting sights on 'Catching Fire,' 'The Hungry Games: Catching Fur' is easily on par with the show's most recent efforts. We've seen the 'Sesame Street' takes on 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Homeland,' and 'Boardwalk Empire,' but the TV spots pale in comparison to Peeta Mellark's re-imagining here.
After making his (her?) way through the various tests of 'The Hungry Games,' an exasperated Cookieness remarks: "Being strong heroine of entire franchise hard work...thankfully, me no have to ever, ever play that again!" Answers the 'Sesame Street' rendition of Finnick Odair, "You know they're making a third one, right?"
Enjoy 'Sesame Street''s take on 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' above, and may the cookies be ever in your flavor!
