For Memorial Day weekend, Cat Country will launch another all 90's weekend. This one will be even longer than the first one we tried, running from Saturday morning with the Best of the Flakes through Monday night just before the Big Time With Whitney Allen.

Getting the music prepared for the weekend is a big job. There are only so many song slots on the radio station and so many different songs that could be played. I wanted to really dig into the nineties and find singers who've generally been forgotten in the past decade or so.

I asked the man who knows ALL and hears ALL in country music, Mark Wilson of the Flakes to come up with a list of forgotten nineties stars.

Here's Mark's list, with some of their musical history and heritage. If others come to mind for you, share in the comments.

Kevin Sharp was born in 1970 in Redding, California. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Weiser, Idaho to open a restaurant. Radiation for treatment of cancer caused Kevin to permanently lose his hair. His 1996 debut CD Measure Of A Man had one big hit, a cover of the Tony Rich song, "Nobody Knows."

Sharp was a Top New Male Vocalist nominee by the Academy of Country Music, but never again had a song in the top 20.

Sharp continues to perform as a musician, as well as a motivational speaker. He is also a spokesperson for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2004, he wrote an inspirational book, titled Tragedy's Gift. His third album, Make a Wish, was released on the independent Cupit Records label in 2005, although none of its four singles charted.

Mark's list includes Billy Dean; Joe Diffie; Collin Raye; Suzy Bogguss; Deana Carter; Boy Howdy; Kinleys; Rhett Akins; Paul Brandt. If you have others Mark missed, share them in the comments.
