‘The Simpsons’ Go LEGO in First Photo From “Brick Like Me”
'The Simpsons' LEGO sets were only the first step in an ambitious cross-promotional campaign for new merchandising around the long-running FOX family, as May 4 will see Homer and the gang trading up to yellow block in the LEGO-animated episode "Brick Like Me." The actual episode itself remains something of a mystery, but what can we learn from the first LEGO photo of the new high-concept 'Simpsons' episode?
As debuted by the official 'Simpsons' Facebook page, the first shot of "Brick Like Me" features a notably normal Homer alongside the LEGO incarnation of Marge, with the town square faithfully recreated in LEGO behind them. Previously, we learned that the episode would see Homer mysteriously wake up in a world where he and all of Springfield are made of LEGO, forcing him to “put together” how he got there, and how he might return.
Of course, we're never at a shortage for new 'Simpsons' material these days, what with the recent 'Mad Men' parodies and announcements of a 12-day marathon to commemorate FXX's acquisition of syndication rights. There's also that major death looming over the season, but in the meantime, what say you? Any theories on what has Springfield looking "Brick Like Me?"
