‘Thor 2′ Clip Unleashes the Dark Elf Malekith, Plus Two New International Spots
A new 'Thor 2' clip has hit the airwaves, this time featuring the arrival of the villain from 'The Dark World,' Christopher Eccleston's Malekith the Accursed. As the leader of the Dark Elves, he awoke from his slumber and is ready to lay waste to the cosmos.
'Thor: The Dark World' tracks Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) journey after he banded with 'The Avengers' to stop his evil brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) from destroying New York City with an alien army. After carrying him off back to Asgard for imprisonment, the god of thunder now faces a new threat that will reunite him with his beloved Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins), and Sif (Jaimie Alexander) and the Warriors Three (Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, and the newly cast Zachary Levi as Fandral).
Malekith is that threat. As seen in the latest clip, via IGN, he's done with his beauty sleep and ready to unleash the full force of his Dark Elf army. In addition, Marvel has also released a couple of TV spots for its international crowds, toting new footage of some of the action to come.
'Thor: The Dark World' also stars Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgard and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and will hit theaters this November 8.
