Tracy Byrd Plans Extensive 25th Anniversary Tour in 2019
Country music legend Tracy Byrd will hit the road in 2019 for a lengthy North American tour to celebrate 25 years since his first big hit in 1993. Byrd has kept most of his performances close to home in recent years, but says he's ready to get back to the fanbase that he has built across the nation.
“I am really enjoying getting back out on the road,” Byrd says in a press release. “I loved spending time off watching the kids grow, but I have missed seeing the legion of fans that we had gained over the years. I look forward to reconnecting with them on the road!”
“Holdin’ Heaven,” was Byrd's first hit in 1993, after which he went on to release a lineup of hits that included “Watermelon Crawl,” “Big Love,” “I’m From the Country,” “Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo,” “Drinkin’ Bone,” and “The Keeper of the Stars,” which earned him the Song of the Year title at the 1996 ACM Awards. Byrd has released 34 singles and 10 studio albums, four of which have been certified gold, one platinum and one double platinum by the RIAA.
Byrd kicks off the tour Feb. 2 in Bakersfield, Calif., and doesn't slow down until December, when he closes out the extensive route in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas. He will be joined by fellow Texas native Mark Chesnutt for four shows along the way; the duo are billed as the Beaumont Boys for those select performances.
