What I Missed in Montana While I was in Mexico
I was going to talk about our experience on this year's flight to Mexico, but that still stings a little bit, so how about something a little more lighthearted?
As great as the trip is, and as good as it is to go someplace different from our boring world, there are still some things that I miss from home.
For me, the first one is good old american 2% milk -- ice cold and waiting for me in my fridge. Not luke warm. And definitely not from some goat. No thanks.
Next, beef. I mean, I'm spoiled because I'm from beef country. I don't ever order the filet in Mexico.
Then, it's English. I realize that most folks south of the border speak better English than I do Spanish, but come on! Every so often you'll end up talking to someone who's either waiting on your table or driving your cab, and they don't have any idea what you are saying.
And after this year's flight down, I miss my loved ones even more than usual. I'm going to spend the day counting my blessings.
