When hunting, as the experienced know, it is just as important to use the meat that you take as it is scouting, tracking, and taking the animal. "Waste Not Want Not" are words to live by when hunting game.

I am not saying that every ingredient has to be started from scratch, but it must be a mixture of ingredients that are cooked on the stove using a recipe. NO CANNED CHILI. I am sure many of you will argue that you know of a brand that is great heated up from a can. This could be fine for your tastes, but for me, homemade is it.

It is amazing how an outage of Facebook has affected our offices today.  It was the talk in the hallways.  We use it for our business to get our message out to the public, but I am sure there are a few desperate to check their newsfeeds. How many times have you refreshed the page today, attempting to get into the social media mega-site?

There is nothing better than my Mother's Homemade Raspberry Jam. When she brings it to Billings, it lasts no more than a week at our house. By that time we are addicted and immediately go into withdrawals that can last for weeks. As you can imagine, this is a problem. What is the solution? Find a distant 2nd to Mom's jam that will last for the 5 and a half months in between her visits.

Why does Billings not get a decent Fall or Spring Season?  That time of year when it is not too hot or too cold.  Sweatshirt weather.

Which brings me to my point, why do we still have a track that goes right through our downtown on 27th Street? For that matter, why do we have to stop and wait for trains to pass? There should be a solution to this.

My yard is empty, barren, in need of color. Shortly after I bought my home on the west end, I found out that our yard had several trees that were infested with bugs. No big deal, or at least that's what I thought until I had an arborist come out. The trees could not be saved; we ended up having to cut down nine trees. So, when I say my yard is baren and needs color - it's no joke. I really need to plant some trees

How do you pick your license plate? Montana has hundreds of choices that have many meanings. No matter what your beliefs, where you went to school, or the charities you support, there is a plate that is just for you.

Rushmore is only about 6 hours from Billings and has all of my favorite Presidents representing what they did for this great country. What you may not be aware of is the ongoing project to memorialize another leader and warrior, Crazy Horse.

Every community has its share of strange smells that float through the air. I have noticed a couple in Billings that stand out. They are distinct and depending on your own senses, you either like them or you don't.

I do enjoy eating my lunches and dinners out. Since I moved to Billings a little over a year ago, I have had the opportunity to try some quality, locally-owned establishments. Lemon Grass for Thai food on King Avenue West, Jakes on First Avenue North or Ten on First Avenue North at the Northern Hotel for a good steak...
