Assembling 1,500 complete Thanksgiving meals requires a lot of manpower.  If you have some free time tomorrow, we will gladly take all the help we can get.

Day one of Flakesgiving is always an impressive operation.  We have a small army of loyal listeners who volunteer every year.  After 20 years, they've got it dialed in. The meal assembly begins shortly after the Flakes get off the air at 10 am.  We'll unload the food trucks and put the meals together. Each box will include a turkey, 10 lbs. of potatoes, bread and vegetables.

Luckily, local high school students do a lot of the heavy lifting.  They've got more strength and energy than some us old timers do, but everyone does what they can.  We're hoping to have a few hundred volunteers tomorrow.  If you'd like to pitch in, we'd love to have you.  Look for the big semi trucks in the parking lot of Metra Park around 10:15.  Usually, the meal prep process takes a few hours, so you should be done by about 1 pm.
