FOX Gives ‘Dads’ Full Season, Plots ‘Following’ Premiere and ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Finale
FOX got a hefty amount of business taken care of today, not the least of which will surely have the internet talking, as Seth MacFarlane's controversial 'Dads' has been given a full season order to continue its equal opportunity offending. Meanwhile, the network has also plotted 'The Following's January premiere to coincide with the 'Sleepy Hollow' finale, a spring break for 'Glee' and more!
“FOX has been looking to break into the multi-camera format for some time,” said network president Kevin Reilly of the decision to renew the critically-panned, but moderate-performing series. “With DADS, we have an asset that we can grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing where the fantastic cast and the creative minds of Seth, Alec [Sulkin], Mike [Sully] and Wellesley [Wild] take us the rest of the season.”
Elsewhere, 'American Idol' will return for its two-night premiere on January 15, while its spring results show airings will be trimmed to make room for Bill Lawrence-Christopher Meloni comedy 'Surviving Jack.' Breakout fall hit 'Sleepy Hollow' will close out its inaugural season on Monday, January 20, immediately followed by the premiere of 'The Following' season 2, which runs for 15 straight weeks thereafter.
Finally, Greg Kinnear lawyer dramedy 'Rake' will premiere with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 19 and continuing with its regular time period debut on Thursday, January 23, following 'American Idol.' 'Glee' will also take its usual hiatus in the spring
