Garth Brooks, Ricky Skaggs and More Named to Musicians Hall of Fame
Garth Brooks and Ricky Skaggs are among the big names set for induction into the Musicians Hall of Fame this year.
The Musicians Hall of Fame named its Class of 2016 on Tuesday (Sept. 6). In addition to Brooks and Skaggs, this year's inductees also include the late Jerry Reed; Brooks' studio backing band, the G Men; and the Sigma Sound Studio Rhythm Section, a group of Philadelphia-based R&B and soul studio musicians.
This year's Musicians Hall of Fame inductees will not be the only honorees at the induction ceremony, however: Allen Reynolds will receiving the Producing Award; former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will be honored with the Iconic Riff Award, for his work on "Hotel California;" and Lou Bradley, Mark Miller, Ron “Snake” Reynolds and Joe Tarsia will each receive the Engineering Award.
The 2016 Musicians Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which also includes a concert component, is set for Oct. 26 at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. Tickets will go on sale on Sept. 12 via Ticketmaster.
Nashville's Musicians Hall of Fame, located within the Municipal Auditorium, near the Tennessee State Capitol, is "the one and only museum in the world that honors the talented musicians who actually played on the greatest recordings of all time." Well-known inductees are mixed with the men and women behind the scenes -- studio musicians, engineers and producers.
