‘Girls’ Season 4: HBO Renews Lena Dunham Dramedy for 2015
Well, we probably should have seen this coming. HBO won't premiere 'Girls' season 3 until this coming Sunday (lucky you, we've got a clip right here!), but buzz around the Lena Dunham-scripted comedy remains ever high, paving the way to an official fourth season renewal for 2015!
HBO announced the news of 'Girls' season 4 return from the ongoing Television Critics Association press panel, similar to the landmark announcements that 'Boardwalk Empire' would close up shop with its fifth season, and the the forth run of 'Game of Thrones' would premiere in April. As yet unknown is the exact number of episodes for 'Girls' season 4, considering season 3 marks the first to air 12 episodes, up from the prior 10.
Seeing as 'Girls' season 4 won't be very relevant until filming begins this summer for a 2015 airdate, we know of ‘Girls’ season 3 is that the expanded run of 12 episodes will see one of the characters entering rehab, while Andrew Rannells’ Elijah will return as a regular in season 4. Jon Hamm‘s wife Jennifer Westfeldt has been observed filming on the set, while Michael Zegen (‘Boardwalk Empire‘) has been announced in a recurring role, along with ‘Orange Is the New Black‘ star Danielle Brooks. Other guest stars include ‘Doctor Who‘ star Richard E. Grant, ‘Crystal Fairy’ star Gaby Hoffmann, ‘The To Do List‘ star Sarah Steele, and ‘Zero Hour‘ star Amir Arison.
We wouldn't be surprised if 'Girls' had itself an even better weekend at the Golden Globes this Sunday, but what say you? Are you excited for 'Girls' season 3, let alone a season 4 renewal? Don't forget the latest trailer, while you're at it!
