Montana Ranks As One Of America's Smartest State

We don't need any experts telling us that Montanans are smart. Just living under the Big Sky shows our intelligence.

But it's always nice when someone else recognizes you.

Montana's IQ Ranking Didn't Actually Test Montana Residents

A new ranking from World Population Review puts Montana's estimated average IQ at 103.4, which puts us near the top of the smart states list.

Now, before anybody gets too excited, we all know that IQ isn't the ultimate measurement of how smart a person is. Plus, this ranking didn't actually test Montana residents. Instead, it's based on educational assessment data that researchers used to estimate state-level IQ scores.

So don't start telling everyone on Facebook just how smart you are.

Still, there's something satisfying about seeing Montana score above some of the other states across America.

Because if we're being completely honest, nobody really cares about these rankings until their own state does well. Then suddenly, the study is the only thing that matters.

And with Montana's 103.4 score, the next question is pretty obvious: What did our neighbors score?
